Geospatial Technologies (GST)
Geospatial Technologies cover the fields of remote sensing, GIS, cartography, spatial-statistical modelling, geo-visualization and environmental monitoring. We promote, enhance and exploit these tools in research, teaching and applications. Our main goal is to develop, improve and advance geospatial methods for integrative and interdisciplinary research questions. In a discourse between fundamental and applied research, we aim at
-
integrating in and linking with international research projects and teams;
-
developing solutions for regional questions and challenges;
-
developing trans-disciplinary research designs;
-
sustainably bundling competences within the University as well as in a regional context, both within the NAWI GRAZ cooperation (with TU Graz) and in cooperation with Joanneum Research;
-
embedding our research in the University’s fields of excellence “Climate Change Graz” and "Dimensions of Europeanization";
-
promoting and supporting young researchers.
