The specialization in this Master's programme focuses on the spatial dimensions of sustainable transformation and aims to explore sustainability dimensions from an integrative geographical perspective. It deepens the knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor's program within the framework of research-led teaching with a focus on sustainable processes of social, ecological and economic urban and regional development and with the use of various methodological specializations, including communication, moderation and participation techniques. In addition to urban and regional development concepts, the study programme covers sustainability and transformation theories, which are taught using contemporary examples, such as urban-rural interaction, social integration, housing, mobility and various aspects of sustainable economies (e.g. production and consumption, tourism, waste management).
